Default Nitto Invos vs. Toyo Proxes 4

Straight Up.

Nitto Invos vs. Toyo Proxes 4? Which one would you get? Why?

I'm looking for answers based off of performance, road noise, and looks (I know, it's a tire, but still...). Money is not an issue between the two for me at this point.

If a set of each was sitting there, which one would you put on your car?

BTW, I'm getting 295/30/20s in the rear and 255/35/20s in the front.

Personally I am getting the INVO's....warmachine and saddleup have them and they are pleased and those that run 20's want a softer tire and taller side wall esp if you clearance issues like me.

I want the 275/40/20 in back and 255/35/20 in front

I know from their website that they are the best performance tire you can get with low noise, good tread wear, etc...

Yeah I had planned on the Invos for a while but Mike from Cruizin Concepts has been really pushing the Proxes 4s. I was just looking to get a wider opinion before I made the purchase. Thanks mygt500. Everyone else respond!!!

I can't speak for the Nitto Invo tires, but as far as the Toyo Proxe 4's, I had them on my 2005 Mustang GT and plan on getting them again as soon as I get a new set of wheels/tires for the GT500.

I have ran the proxy4s and was happy with them, especially for the price. I personally hate the tread patter on the invo's but i have heard nothing but good things about them.

I just put the invos on my mustang and absolutely love them! they're 20's and ride as comfortable as my stock 17's. performace is great... awesome grip. can't really think of a fault at the time. before I went and bought them i did some research online and didn't really see anything but really stellar reviews on the invo...

Don't know about the Toyo's but I have a good deal of experience with Nitto as I have 555's on my Mustang and Invos on my Z06. Here's what I think. Tire choice is subjective and variable. What is good for one person is not necessarily good for another. A HUGE concern when choosing a tire for me is ride quality. I live in New England where the roads are filled with frost heaves, expansion joints and pot holes. That said, I really like my Invos because they are quiet and provide a comfortable ride. The only downside to them is that they are a little soft in the corners if you drive real hard and they don't take tire shine well. The 555's are very nice on SMOOTH ROADS. But you'll really feel the bumps when they're not so smooth. Don't let the weird tread pattern of the Invo throw you off. They live up to their reputation. If I were going to change my tires again I would choose Invo over 555.

Like mygt500 said...I have the Invos and love them. Can't comment on the Toyos but been really pleased with the Invos. Grip great, quiet, smooth.

Question for others with Invos...my Mustang is my DD and this coming winter will be the first with the Invos. How will they hold up? I usually don't drive in the snow but if it's a light snow or I'm away from home when it hits then I have to drive in it. Obviously traction will be limited but how will the tires hold up as far as not ruining them or anything?

Pretty sure Toyo owns Nitto, their tire compounds are probably identical.
