Default CAI without a tune?

I just bought a Steeda CAI Kit for my 09 GT and I noticed it says that you should not install it without retuning the factory computer.

Has anyone installed one without a tune??

Thanks

I think you see more power with a tune than a CAI, the CAI doesn't really add much

Needs a tune to run properly. Or else just leave it stock.

If you put on a CAI without a tune, your car will be getting more air than fuel and it will throw a check engine light. If you change the tune and keep the stock air box it will throw the "wrench" code on your dash and put the car into limp mode. You need both.

Cai w/o a tune nets roughly 4-8 RWHP. Plus, THAT CAI, untuned, will throw a CEL for running lean and can eventually harm your engine.

CAI & tune combo will net you roughly 15-25 or more RWHP.

I started mine up for a few seconds, when I got my intake, and it ran really rough. I then shut the motor off real quick. I would not reccomend running it like this.

Bottom line- if the MAF sensor is changed OR the MAF sensor area is changed (IE the intake tube diameter)- a tune a needed.
