The wideband 02 sensor is meant to be a tuning device. Narrow (factory) band 02 sensors aren't near as accurate. To my knowledge, you cannot replace a factory sensor for a wideband sensor.

I agree. The question remains. Do we replace the narrow band with wide band or end up with 3 sensors (and 3 holes?)
You get an extra hole. Have an exhast shop install the bung as close to the collector as possible, but definitely somewhere between the engine and cats, not after the cats.
I had this done recently and took 15-20 minutes and cost $30. They cut a hole with a torch and weld a bung on there.

Thanks man. I suppose wait until you actually have the sensor to plug the hole...
So what's the deal with this sort of thing. If you go to have your car tuned on a dyno do they cut the hole and (temporarily?) install the sensor? Then remove it when done and seal it up?

LOL - now that you mention it. They put the bung in and then asked me if I had anything to go in there. Errr...no. They had a bad O2 laying around on the floor and put that in there.

o they remove the O2 sensor and replace it with the wideband temporarily.
