Default question for rear-seat-delete owners

I never use my back seats anyways, it is usually just me and one other person. And those 2 rears are tiny and cramped anyway.

So I want to put in a rear-seat-delete, but my question is, can a person sit on the delete and have enough room to spread out? Like if it was just a 10 minute trip and someone wanted to ride in the back?

If the seat delete is more roomy than the factory seats than I am putting that in instead.

Perhaps the occasional rear passenger could sit longways across the whole delete?

Well, most delete kits are two pieces that are flat. So, yes, there's plenty of room to sit, but I would worry about the weight breaking the board or plastic underneath.

Be careful, though, with no seats- it would be an easy ticket if you get caught.

Does anyone know how big a weight saver it is? And how much $ are the deletes?

About 30lbs savings total including all brackets. I've seen it for as cheap as $150. If you're looking at it strictly for weight savings, I'd do front racing seats first.

Its not a weight savings issue.

I actually want to do this so the occasional rear passenger will have MORE room

It's not going to give the rear passenger more room. Just going to make it more uncomfortable for them to sit back there. Plus they will slide around or break the cheap lightweight wood they use to build those. They aren't thick at all and will break.

remove both rear seats and custom make a love seat to fit back there.
More room, and you can pretend to be like the guys on pimp my ride!

what state do you inhabit? Down here in FL people still ride in the back of pickups, no ticket involved!

I di d the custom myself back in 68 with my Mustang coup with the 271 hp 289.
Always had more storage room for long road trips and such.

Fold the rear seats DOWN and instead of laying ACROSS a seat delete
board, they can lay down and extend into the trunk area for a non-cramped
type ride.
