Default Heated seats do not stay warm

Is there a thermostat on these things.? It gets warm after about 2 minutes then cools off after another couple of minutes, like a thermostat hits its limit immediately and shuts it off even though the timer still runs it's 15 minute cycle.

This is not going to cut it for leaf peaking this fall with the top down.

I rode in a range rover and know how good heated seats are supposed to work. These mustang heated seats are pathetic.

I think they're useless unless you start out in sub-zero temps. But mine get VERY warm.

Per the '07 Owners Manual*, both heated seats will "...turn off automatically after 10 minutes of use."

* peculiar rectangular thing made of paper and cardboard with black letters and numbers randomly spread across them; rarely looked at by human eyes

It shows some sort of overheat device in each heating pad...
Maybe thats whats kicking out.
Is it cold enough to warrant the seats staying heated for the entire 10 minutes?

Is that the box with the zig zag lines? I wonder how easy it is to get to to. I could jumper it out.

It's Massachusetts. Fall cruising is nippy. It's awseome to have heat blasting from the heater and seats with the top down. The seats need to be HOT.

There are 4 'boxes'.
The arched item indicates a thermal cut-out device
or a fuse.
You could bypass the thermal cut-outs but you could
cause a sort of spontanious combustion othing ne day
while driving.
Burns from red hot seat warming wires is not pretty...

Its not the 10 minute timer. They start cooling off within about 3-4 minutes. Like they come up and hit the thermostat immediately and turn off.

I know these damn things are not right, but i'm not about to take to the apes at the dealership to mess with.

I guess like everything else, i'll have to tear into it myself and figure it out.

Engineers like to frig with things.
