The factory stripes are fine. If mine would've had these type stripes on them when I bought it then I wouldn't have to get them aftermarket like I am now. One thing that you'll see is that everything, or most things, that you try to get after the fact (instead of ordering it that way) costs more. My local dealer quoted me almost a thousand bucks for the factory stripes plus installation. That's too much. Even most of the kits you'll find out there (aftermarket) are identical to the factory stripes. Long story short, if you can get them on your car from the factory GO FOR IT!

REASONS I DID NOT WANT THE FACTORY STRIPES:
1- (most important) the factory stripes offered for the GT do not go all the way down the front of the hood and also down the front bumper, the factory stripes stop before the front of the hood and no stripes on the front bumper.
2- I wanted the LeMans style, two wide stripes, style. The factory stripes offered for the GT are not that style. Personal preference which I base on my many years of drooling over pics of racing Mustangs and Cobras whcih have LeMans style stripes. Many like the King Cobra type stripes that are offered by the factory and I think they look nice, just not my preference. I wanted the stripes that look the same as the GT500 Cobra stripes.
3- Can only get white or black factory stripes on a GT. I strongly considered white on my Kona blue GT...I like the traditional look of white on dark blue, but ultimately I decided I preferred the ever so slighly more subtle look of the metallic silver stripes...and the silver stripes are complimented by my silver 19" wheels.
THE ULTIMATE CHOICE IS YOURS AND SHOULD BE BASED UPON WHAT YOU LIKE BEST, not what anyone else prefers.

My stripes are finished and my stripe guy sent me a few shots, but I'll take some better ones later. It looks really good. I'll post some pics when I get my car back this afternoon.
