I don't think it'd be safe either because a tight turn would make the tire bead come tight off the rim. Outch!

To give you an idea, I'm running 275 on a 8.5" rim up front, lol.
It was a bad idea.

$201 each for the Nitto 295's. They lasted about 18K....not to bad.

I have a pair of 305/35/18 Nitto DRs sitting in my garage. You are welcome to look at them, put them on, try them or what ever you want to do. They have about 1k miles on them and never had a good burn out dome with them. Not sure if I am going to sell them or not. Depends on how much I go to the track this fall and winter.

While some 20's may look ghetto on our S197's not all do.

I have 275's all around and, on heavily truck traveled roads where there are ruts worn in, the car will tramline something nasty. 255's up front would be better IMO.

The S197 has a big wheel opening, so 20" are OK IMO.
Wouldn't look right on a new edge for example or a classic...

One of the beautiful things about our Stangs is the retro look and a tire with such little sidewall, even on stock 17" and 18" wheels, looks inept. Give me 16's with a nice sidewall and RWL's. Yeah, it'll screw up handling but, DAMN, it looks so good!

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it...
Everyone has an opinion. You hate 20"s, I love them. I don't care what you think, you don't care what I think. Life goes on.

Quite true. We're all allowed to have our opinions. Just because I don't like 20's doesn't mean anyone should count them out if THEY like them.

I like the 35 series sidewall better than the 45 series... Especially on a lowered GT. The 40 is just neutral. It doesn't look bad
