Thumbs up Mustang comes out ahead again in major magazine

The Oct 09 issue of Road and Track compared the Mustang, Camaro and Challenger on a long, pony express trip and the Mustang came out on top. Some results:

0 - 60 mph = Mustang, 5.3 sec
Camaro, 4.6
Challenger, 5.8

60 - 0 = Mustang, 115'
Camaro, 121'
Challenger, 136'

Out of a perfect score of 400, Mustang got 383.9
Camaro got 372.7
Challenger got 357.9

Scores based on engine, handling, ride, etc. Two of the three testers picked the Mustang as the most fun to drive car.

Joe

What is this 5.3? I thought it is
2010 Mustang. 0-60 mph - 4.9 seconds. 1/4 Mile -13.5@104.2 mph
I guess they used an auto and not a manual with the 3.75

and this Camaro 4.6 seems to low to me too, I thought it was more like 4.8

Can someone confirm this?

5.3 for the mustang and 5.8 for the challenger are both way off, the mustang is real close to 5 flat, and the challenger is around 5.3, both of which achieved 13.5 in the quarter (though the mustang is much more likely to do better, where as that's the average for the challenger)

I think they got the 5.3 because they were testing the slow, Grabber Blue color...

Car and Driver's article had the Camaro and the Mustang within .1 of each other on 0-60. I forget which was the faster. They also had the Camaro getting to 100 much faster than the Stang. Something like 23 seconds vs. 34... whatever it was, it was a lot. They didn't bother to test the Challenger because they found it much more fun to take the hood off of it and use the hood for a 12 person sled in the winter. Good times.
