Default Blower broke

My vortech supercharger broke on Friday. I believe a bearing failed. Its still under warranty, so I can send it back to Vortech, but I guess I just eat the cost of getting the shop to remove it, and re tune my car. Is this something I can have covered through my insurance? what do you guys think?

also, I apologize if this is posted in the wrong section.

if its just the headunit it should not take the shop 20 min to pull it off and then you ship it off. you should not have to retune it if the same blower is going back on and no your insurance will not cover any of these cost.

he would need a retune if he plans on driving the car before the new head unit comes in...

It is takes longer than 20 minutes to pull the head unit. Yes, no re-tune is needed. Without removing the blower bracket and reinstalling the stock idler pulleys, you can't drive it.

One of the main reasons I have stayed away from SC my GT.

And as stated above. You should not need a re-tune and no the insurance will not cover it.

**** happens man. by that line of reasoning, you should not have bought your car...because the crank could roll a bearing tomorrow, or the heads drop a valve.

blower failure is very rare. most likely the OP's blower has a manufacturing defect. but it's under warranty and he'll get it back shortly.

bit of a PITA, but easily overcome

Vortech and paxton failures are more common than you think, at least they used to be a few years ago. That's why I stayed away from the centri's or anything that needs engine oil to lubricate it.

Car insurance? Are you serious? I suppose that's not such a stupid question. My in-laws thought my home owners insurance would cover my roof leaking, lol! maybe if a tree fell through my roof.

you talking to me? or someone else?

when I said warranty, I meant the warranty provided by the blower company.

I agree with you 100% on the Car Insurance aspect. They won't cover ****. I got dropped by GEICO when I did the blower on my F-150. F'ing stupid.
