WOuldn't he need at least a couple of pulls on the dyno just to be safe.....just to ensure everything was properly fixed. I understand the likely hood of something being off is slim to none, but its cheaper than buying a new motor.

No. The same blower is going back on the motor and will be making the same amount of boost so a re tune is NOT necessary.

Car insurance? Are you serious? I suppose that's not such a stupid question. My in-laws thought my home owners insurance would cover my roof leaking, lol! maybe if a tree fell through my roof.
I didn't figure that insurance would cover it, but it would be MONUMENTALLY stupid if I spent the money and then later found out that I could have made a claim.
