Unhappy JLT fitment issues. Help!

I'm getting a nasty burn in the hood insulation above the 90 degree bend (that goes to the throttle body) and above the air filter because they are both rubbing the hood insulation. The air filter itself is also burning.

I've tried my best to adjust the fitment, but to no avail. This is my second air filter. The original was too far gone.

as anyone had a similar problem that could give me some tips? Thanks!

Burning? My elbow rubs but doesn't burn, and my filter doesn't rub at all on my JLT. Try repositioning it some.

my elbow rubs alittle but not that big of a problem, I did have a issue with the filter rubbing, I fixed it by triming the heat shield down where the filter would sit down alittle lower which gave me the room that I needed for the filter to clear.

I had fitment issues on mine. It was more with the sheild not the filter. Had to trim and sand down a bit to fit better. Little finesse will make it all work out.

it's the JLT heat shield with some weatherstripping that I put on myself.
