Be real careful with that bolt when you get it. I installed those on my '02 GT and when I went to take that bolt out, it stuck and then broke in the block. I had to have it drilled out. There seems to be a real fine line between getting it seated properly and a little too far in. The kits can't be that much different for the s197s.

The UPD install scares the hell out of me because I'm used to Hondas. Does it replace the crank pulley? Do you have to make sure everything stays TDC and it takes the power of a demi-god to break the crank pulley bolt loose?

I put my UDPs in about 4 years ago and honestly dont remember much about the install process. But i think that longer bolt was about 3/4 inch longer than the stock one. It was used to push the new pulley onto the crank and then removed. So i would say take the stock bolt to a hardware store and get a slightly longer one, making sure its the same thread pitch. get a few difffernt lenghts so you'll have several to chose from. I do remember the hardest part was getting the old pulley off, but then on was easy.

If you have an Auto Zone near you could use one of their loaner tools.

Nope, just pull it off anywhere, and the key slot only goes on one way. The pulley does not afftect the timming at all.

Yup the bolt is pretty tight but an impact pops it right out.

You will never get a bolt at a hardwarte store or auto parts place. I have an unused one I would send you but I am in VA. How soon do you need it? I used a balancer installer because I feel it is a better (safer) method.

It is also highly recommended by FORD to replace your stock crank bolt because it streches during the installation torque sequence. The FORD part number for the bolt is: F 5RZ 6A340 B.
