Hello everyone.

I've been here before but can't find my old info and the password retrieval wasn't working for a couple of days, so I started a new user...

I've previously owned an '05 AT and a '07 convertible MT, both GT models.

Sorry for the long first post, but I really need some input/advice/help.

Don't laugh or say I told you so, but I currently own a 2010 2SS RS Camaro. That's another thread for another time. I can't wait to get rid of it and get a 2010 Mustang GT Premium.

Here's the problem... I've been burned with what should have been minor issues that turned into major ones with my last two vehicles (neither were Fords). I've owned 7 new Fords and never had any issues. But because of recent events, I may be a little **** about the potential new Mustang.

I have a great deal worked out on the Mustang I want and it's sitting on the lot. However, there are three issues that are bothering me and I'm not sure if they are common, known or have the potential to be big issues later.

1) The first issue is a wind/slight rattle from the drivers shin area (the best I can tell with a couple of test drives). This only seems to happen at +70 MPH. Anyone know what this is and/or if it's normal?

2) The bigger issue for me is there is a vibration during a normal takeoff shortly after the car begins moving. It's as if you're running over a rumple strip at a stop sign, but not near as pronounced. It does it ever single time and vibrates four times. They are telling me it's normal for the tires and rims that are on this car, but it seems more mechanical to me. Any ideas?

3) There is a noticeable vibration in the cockpit while in 2nd @ 2k RPM. I even heard the passenger visor rattle. Granted, this isn't something I would run at every day, but it happens. Normal?

The vibrations are not in the steering wheel. The car tracks and drives very well. Better than I remember, and my '07 was my favorite car of all time and it didn't have these issues.

Their best tech says it's normal. Concerning #2 and #3, I drove another 2010 GT on the lot and it didn't have these issues (nor the color or features I want).

Any input will be much appreciated.

I think you just answered your own question. Based on my experience with Ford dealerships, anything short of your engine exploding is considered "normal." If you want that particular car make them fix the problems BEFORE you buy. Otherwise walk away. I wish I had thoroughly test driven my car before I bought it. I've had some minor but annoying issues that I would have discovered, and now getting Ford to fix them under warranty is a battle.

They need a better "best" tech...my car does neither #2 or #3.

Walk away. It's new, and should be perfect. Mine has none of the problems you are describing.

If you have these concerns then just wait for the new motor in a year... 400hp will make you forget about the little nagging issues we all have with our stangs...

I'm really interested in why you want to get rid of the Camaro SS. I actually like them. I don't have one though. PM me if you want since that discussion would be off topic.

Hey everyone, thanks for the answers. I went out of town (and state) today on business and stopped by two dealers on the way home. I drove an AT and MT GT, both with the 19" $1,095 RIMS and they all did the same thing as #2 from my first post. So, I'm guessing it's common with that setup.

I'm assuming that some people have issues with #1 from my original post with the wind noise?

SirKnightTG, let's just say for now that in my first 90 days of ownership, the Camaro spent 67 days with a major vibration for what ended up being a warped CV axle they could never properly diagnose. The car was all but undrivalbe or was sitting in the shop (28 days). GM (corporate) told me they'd give me some oil changes for free for my troubles. I was expecting more than that for a $42k car I couldn't drive for two months. And I still have other issues that I just don't want to deal with any longer. No wonder GM went bankrupt.
