Default 2010 GT cost question

Ok so I ordered a 2010 Mustang GT about 3.5 weeks ago. It's just basic, no options (no leather, no nav and all that stuff). It will be about $27,000. Do you guys think that is too much money?

Is that price out the door? Or before taxes, license, etc? Doesn't the base GT sticker at $27,995?

There are many variables which can come into play:
  • Where the dealer is situated can affect pricing (i.e., are they located in a high rent district?)
  • The clients they cater to (are they located in an affluent part of a city?)
  • Are they a "struggling" dealer (which can cut both ways: offer deep discounts, or stiff you for more money)
  • Timing can affect the price too.
But after all said and done, it's not out of line for the price. Yet I've seen others post they got a better deal and with more options.

Yeah, the part that gets in the gut is when I see folks get more features for the same money I paid, but I suck at buying cars -- since I so rarely do it.

Ahhh... if only money wasn't an issue... we'd all be driving GT500s I suppose.

Consider yourselves lucky. Here in Canada the MSRP is $39499 for a base model GT.

Wow. Even if you're talking Canadian bucks, that's still roughly $37K+ US dollars!

Why so much?

I know that foreign cars are often more (foreign being defined as relative to country of origin) -- especially U.K. in origin (but not so much as Far East in origin), but you'd think that U.S. industries would be at least a bit more neighborly in their financials with Canada.
