Thumbs up Remote Control Windows

I installed one of these kits in my car and can now raise and lower my windows using my keyless remote! They're available on Ebay, check it out!

I was upset that Ford advertised this feature, but then discontinued it shortly after releasing the S197. This kit makes it all better, haha. Very cool toy!

It actually powers up the window circuit at the SJB and then triggers the window's own built-in auto up/down features. After 10 seconds of not activating them, it powers them down again. Since it uses the same interface that the user would I don't think it would have this problem. ...unless you sit on the remote maybe? I've have mine installed for over a month with no issues so far.

Build date of Aug 04. Mine has the roll down feature and put the key in door to roll up or down. I can honestly say I used it twice and that was to show people... haha

Wink

I can see my car in the parking lot from my desk at work. I like to leave the windows open a few inches on hot sunny days. I'm now able to put them up from my desk if rain threatens. But I won't deny that one of the main reasons for installing is just that it's cool.

Yes, it's a cool feature. But one that I can live without. I doubt that I'd use it if I had it and I'd be concerned about inadvertent operation. If it works for you, then certainly a thumbs up.

Ditto, looking at my parts spreadsheet, there are 18 other things I need for the same price that are more important...

Wow, if only they would make a remote device to move my power seat back and forth too. That would really come in handy. This way if a big guy car jacked me, I could roll down the windows and adjust the seat for him as he drove off in my car. Maybe another device so that I could adjust the radio for him also. Not.....

If you are concerned about that inadvertantly working, how do you
feel about your power door locks working off the same key fob as the kit???

+1
My Challenger has it factory and it seems to be a novelty feature for me so far...

Mine never roll down on their own. Only when I hold down the unlock button.
