+1 dealer body shops blow ***

I had them put a windshield in for me. They scratched the windshield putting it in. I took the car back, had another one put in. This time they scratched the top of the car along the edge where the top of the windshield fits in. Took it back again, they filled in the scratches, but they didn't polish it and finish the job like they should have.

I gave up at that point. Some day I'll polish the thing and finish their job for them when I get a good porter cable tool and pads.

I always go to a body shop for paint, end of story. Also I always stand around and be sure to watch who is working on my car so I know who to yell at if they **** up

A lot of dealerships in my area no longer have body shops for this reason. We do a lot of work for a local ford dealership after they got rid of their body shop. They always bitch about the bill until the owner pics it up and says that they will continue coming to them blah blah blah, then they are like okay. You don't need to watch people like a hawk and most you can't since you aren't allowed into the body area. What you need to do is ask your friends, coworkers and church group who they take their vehicles to for repair and paint work since they will be the most honest with you. You can call your ins co, but naturally, they will only pimp out the shops on their program.
