Default Advice, opinions, or whatever on 05 GT?!

The other week I hit a fat doe at 40mph and pretty much finished off my 98 3.8L automatic Mustang. It was getting some serious problems, but it lasted a healthy 150,000 mile life before the deer came into the equation. I'm now looking for a new Mustang, and I'm ready to put done some decent money for a decent ride! I'm tired of driving junk and dealing with problems when I see 16 year olds driving 2010s or beamers.

I found a new Mustang and I'm really really considering it! It's an 2005 GT manual coupe, completely stock and mint, nice black leather interior and all the creature comforts, and it's still VIRGIN!, less than 6k miles. I believe it's been sheltered (not left outside for the elements) and it's a dealer selling the car, not an individual. Pretty much everything I'd perfer. It's Legend Lime in color, and the only mark I can see is the drill marks in the front bumper for a license plate.

Was asking 17,999$ for it (which I thought was pretty decent), but auction ended and did not meet reserve. I asked him if he was going to relist it, and he sent me a personal "second offer" deal, and cut the "buy it now" price down to 16,999$! I'm almost 22, and money isn't necessarily raining on me, but I feel that's a legit price and I know I will be able to afford the payments.

Anything at all that you'd like to tell me about the 2005 models? Any notorious problems? It's been 5 years now, something has had to come up? All the benefits of the car, including modibility? Etc etc...

Thanks guys!
Nic

Ha well you can check the TSB list! The 05 does naturally have the highest number of TSB's because that was the first year of production for the S197, But I think that sounds like a really good offer considering that the car only has 6K miles on it!

Yeah, Technical Service Bulletins is right. There is a sticky thread about Taco Bills How to's, and after that there is a TSB list as well. The TSB's are just known problems that exist among many of the mustangs out there. Even if your car is out of warranty I believe they will still fix a TSB. But you don't have to worry either way since the car only has 6K miles on it.

Yeah the 05+ Mustangs are pretty awesome. And then once you get the car, you know how the mod bug is! You just can't quit messing with the car!

First thing I'll have to do it throw down alittle money to fix my "mod itch"! The basics most probably, nice exhaust kit, nice intake system, tuner. Then I'll have to work on paying the damn thing off!

I have "mod itch" because you have no idea how bad it is driving a Mustang for 4.5 years that has 127rwhp @ redline
