Default So how much horsepower increase do you think?

My stock GT is suppose to be 315 horse. I added Magnaflow axlebacks which are worth 8 hp. I am running the Brenspeed 93 octane tune, maybe 10 hp? And I put in a K&N air filter, maybe 2 hp? So maybe I am pushing 335 horse now? Any idea? The only thing sure is the 8 hp which is from the Magnaflow web site's dyno chart.

Axlebacks (and catbacks, for that matter) add nothing to these engines for real. So your "sure" 8 HP exhaust add is actually zip, nada. Your CAI & 93 tune combo is worth roughly 15-20 RWHP over the stock '10 tune and intake. Figure roughly 335 at the crank, maybe 300 RWHP.

I just got them today so I don't have alot of miles on them yet but here are two videos, one with the old Roush exhaust and one of the new Magnaflows. They are the cylindrical ones, not the ones that look like the factory mufflers.

They sound alot quieter inside the car than the Roush; they have a small drone around 2000 rpm but not nearly as bad as the Roush. At other speeds they sound really different than stock, almost like a low pitch hum at times. I plan to take a video of me driving around with them like I did with the Roush and I will post it here.

not trying to rag on u or anything man but u can't just accept what some website says as the truth, u need to do a little research on ur own. of course these companies are gonna TELL u that their products "add so much freaking hp man!" because they're trying to sell as many of the things as they can. all an axleback is is a muffler with some piping on the ends. sure the stock mufflers might be a little more restrictive than the magnaflows but i doubt it's even measurable. so ask yourself where is that 8 hp coming from?

Too bad about the drone problem with your sensitive ears because the Roush sounds better IMO.

actually your 2010 has a more aggressive tune then in 09 so an aftermarket tune will yield less hp then what it will give you in an 09. To be honest I will bet next weeks check you are putting no more then 290 rwhp. In fact if you put in an aftermarket tune and mufflers you will get exactly what someone with an 09 would get. There are no differences to the engine in your 10, its all in the more aggressive tune from the factory that picks up the 15 hp over the 09.

Companies will tell you whatever they want in order to get you to buy their product, including lying. If I added up all the advertised HP number gains from all the products I have used on my car, then I should have over 415 crank hp easily, but I only made 331rwhp on a VERY questionable dyno which was probably about 10whp on the high end for me. Assuming you are a manual, I would say you may be making close to or just about 300rwhp, or 335-340 at the crank.

P.S. just a heads up, guys on most sites will rip on you for talking about crank hp as rear wheel hp is the only power reading that matters. :-D
