HELP with Cigarette Lighter wires in Center Console.

HELP with Cigarette Lighter wires in Center Console.
Call me stupid, but I haven't the slightest clue about this stuff. I was pulling my center console out to hide wires for my iPod dock, and apparently the wire for my power outlet/cigarette lighter came unplugged.
How do I go about plugging this back in? Does is matter which side is which? Is this going to shock me if I touch it or spark if they touch each other?
The car is going to the dealer tomorrow for another unrelated reason, so I am tempted to put electrical tape over the two silver ends and just tell the dealer I ****ed up.
Any help here? It doesn't seem very complicated, I just don't want to blow **** up.
