Default idle speed

what is the difference between idle drive and idle neutral? I have hanging RPMs that are driving me crazy

It's possible your stand-alone CAI is causing your PCM some grief. A good tune would probably help.

But you may want to try resetting the adaptive learning by disconnecting the battery for 20-30 minutes first. Just be aware that you'll need to put about 10 - 20 miles on the car for it to begin relearning and hopefully settle down.

well i had problems with it before so doug sent me a new tune for 91 octane. fixed the problem but when he sent me the new tune in 93 octane it started again. I thought adaptive learning would fix it too but no such luck

the rpms hang at 1000 when i put the car in neutral and come rolling to a stop. they sit there for a few seconds then drop back down to 750. i am just frustrated because it seemed like doug nailed it on the head with the 91 octane

ok that is what i suspected.

there seems to be a small tradeoff, between
a tune where the idle hunts around too much
and a tune where the idle hangs a little more
when coasting to a stop.

my current tune hangs more and slowly comes
down as vehicle speed decreases and when
stopped, it goes to the idle nuetral setting.

there is a happy place for the tune, you just have
to find it.

that must be it. i thought it may have had something to do with the two idle speeds on adjustable options

top00cat, you ever consider getting the
sct pro racer package? i'm getting it in
a couple of weeks, mainly for educational
purposes.

at some point i'll be able to answer these types
of questions, with confidance.
