Default ZR3 and 9500i Install

So i installed a Escort ZR3 Laser Jammer along with an Escort 9500i Radar Detector today. I installed all 3 of the laser jammer heads on the front. One on the license plate, and the other 2 near the fog lights. I screwed each of the 2 heads near each of my 2 fog lights into my grill (the top of the grill). I ran the wires from the grill around to the driver's side and zip tied them to other wires. And ofcourse away from the moving objects.

I then ran the wires into my car through the rubber gasket near the driver's side tire. There was quite a bit of extra wire so i just zip tied it to underneath my dash.

This is problem number one. After driving home for around 30 minutes, with the heater on at the floor, i noticed that the underside of my dash is hot. The diagnostics box(?) on the left side of the car near the pedals was really hot. Then the floor AC/Heater is shooting hot air near the wires and zip ties. Would this be a problem? BTW the wires are zip tied below the steering wheel right where the plastic ends.

The only reason i think it would be a problem is because the ZR3 installation pack says to keep the wires away from heat, even though the wires are forced to skirt the inside of the engine bay.

For power i plugged the hot end of the wire directly into an empty fuse slot that was not being used. Specifically, one of the mini fuses underneath the gray box on the left in the fuse box. I then grounded the wire to a bolt that is underneath the fuse box that is metal. Does this sound safe? The power cord has a built in fuse so the addition of another in the fuse box would be redundant, correct?

I am planning to connect my 9500i to my new ZR3 tomorrow but the wiring is the only problem. I mount my radar low, like mid window. The main ZR3 connecter is at the bottom of the dash, like where your right knee is and i need to connect a wire to my window (close to the bottom than the top). I was thinking the defroster would work... Is there any way to get to the top of the dash from the bottom side of the dash?

Thank you everyone for your help

Truly Appreciated
