Yes, I listened to many youtube vids of S197's w/ SLP Loudmouths and they are very loud. If you are looking for loud exhaust, SLP is def. that!! If I recall correctly, they sale them at AmericanMuscle.com for a little over $300.00.
Good luck with your decision!

nope, no vids. But the stock mufflers do an excellent job at keeping the noise level down. It's not as quiet as my moms Edge, but it's close. The autos have a different muffler system than the manuals I believe, so that might have helped.

Very smooth but too "quiet" for most Mustang enthusiests I am willing to bet.

Getting tired of the Bassani mufflers?

I am getting the SLP H pipe w/high flow cats & 18 inch resonators... talk about dead silent.

When I go FI, all they'll hear is the deafening whine of the blower and their own crying after losing lol. The cut outs are cool as hell don't get me wrong, but the attention it gets is not always welcome.

OP, were you talking about just the axel back delete or the entire cat back replacement? i know mustangs unlimited has an entire system, including xpipe all the way back delete from pypes for like 289. thats a killer deal, cheaper than most other axel back deletes but you do pay for it in fitment quality like others have said. i have been playing with mine over a year now. i would have just went with o/r h and boomtubes by now but i just came on some orders for germany 2 weeks ago and i really doubt i would slip the car in without cats. keep us posted on what you decide

check with your local muffler shop they can make you a custom delete system and you can pick what ever size and tips you want...I had the slp's and loved them...but I wanted 4" tips so I had a muffler shop weld some on....good luck

also check the classifieds there is a member selling pypes deletes and there is another member selling his custom deletes...heres his link...good look

I just installed a set of the PYPES muffler deletes today. The one tip is a little low on the right side, but Im gonna put in on the lift tomorrow to see if i can align it properly. RPMoutlet has them listed as the MotoSteel MD for $180 plus $11.50 shipping, but they turned out to be the PYPES MD. Took 5 days to receive them and wasnt missing anything. But knowing RPms history it may be hit/miss on speed of delivery and contents.

Yeah, kinda. I like the sound of Bassani mufflers...I think they are the best. However, the S197 will never sound like the older V8's no matter how much noise a muffler makes. I really got tired of all the vibration and drone.

I swapped my Bassanis out for my stockers today. I really enjoyed driving my car today without all the noise....just the thumping of my V8 accentuated by my BBK shorty headers. The Bassani catted X gives a little more volume than the stock H...especially when I get on it. The stock mufflers sound great at idle also.

Anyone want to buy a pair of stainless Bassani street mufflers? ;-)

The stock mufflers are surprisingly easy on the ears once straying away from them lol

I am glad I kept mine as well!

I know what you mean about the old V8s sounding a little more raw and less ?mechanical?

I was watching Death Proof on MTV yesterday night, and the sound of those two mopars during the chase scene were making me jealous.

I like the KR500 mufflers, but damn.. talk about expensive!
