I will search out the part # for you.
I'd appreciate it. =]

EDIT: on a side note, I found a system called StarDrive (www.auto-hub.com) that is of the exact nature we are discussing. They say you send them your button and they can make it work with their system. I am going to look into this. I think if I ordered http://www.americanmuscle.com/sr-mus...tton-0509.html and the StarDrive, I could have true keyless ignition for around $600. I hope to find other systems to compare to StarDrive.

so you would walk up and unlock vehicle with original clicker, also have a "dogtag" on you which allows the car to start by just pushing a button?
test drove a nissan that unlocked when you got close with the fob in your possession, got in and pushed button to start... just one fob

edit: looks like the stardrive does it

Judging by the Install Diagrams I would say no, unfortunately: http://www.digitalguarddawg.com/PDFS...ms%20Types.pdf

Fob in the proximity of the vehicles fob reader and
the vehicle starts at the push of a button.

Wait until the dealerships want to implant
you with the RF ID chip that allows YOU only
to start the vehicle.
Wait until the Government has you implanted with a chip at birth. Kind of like a cattle rancher branding their stock. Then if you are allowed to have a car, the car will be trained to respond to your chip.

I guess I'm the only one worried about the "kids these days" figuring out how to not only emulate all of the key fob signals to unlock the car, but now also be able to start it up and drive off? At least now if they manage to figure out the key fob they only get to unlock; they then need to get around a different, more manual kind of security. I guess the counter argument to this would be that once the car is unlocked, one can tow it away without the alarm going off, but that's still more work than driving it away.

Flame suit on...
