Default Engine Start button locations

Has anyone installed an engine start button somewhere other than where the cigarette lighter goes?
What about between the 2 air vents above the lighter location?

Mine is just right of the steering wheel on the column.
Floor mounted would be nice. Hand free, kinda.
Some mount them outside the passengers cabin
so getting in and inserting the key is required
then getting out to press the button...

Exactly my point.
Why on earth do you need a seperate start button?
The key works mighty fine as Ford designed it.

Go ahead, drill some holes for un useful gadgets...
Check for clearances before doing so...

sounds like reinventing the wheel to me. Unless you can find a way to make it like my 5.50 bmw, where the fob sits in my pocket and starts then id spend the money to make my sixer a push start

It's not common in cars but alot of construction equipment and trucks have engine start buttons. Used to have Uclid trucks at work that had the start buttons on the floor of the cab, 1 for each of the 2 engines.

This is actually something I wanna look at. mercury has this on their mkz, which shares alot of parts with the Fusion... and it just so happens the Fusion uses the same Key , cylinder and VATS module as the mustang...

Its available aftermarket.
Jegs and Summit has the systems in their catalogs.
Fob in the proximity of the vehicles fob reader and
the vehicle starts at the push of a button.

Wait until the dealerships want to implant
you with the RF ID chip that allows YOU only
to start the vehicle.

Now that would be a mod I'd want to do.

Do you have a link by chance? I searched the Jegs catalog online but can't find it. All I can seem to find is remote start systems.

Searching the websites is fruitless.
Printed catalogs are the way to go.
I will search out the part # for you.

fLAMING rIVER 898-fr60001
It wAS $499, NOW ITS $749
Thats the beauty of printed catalogs.
They wont come to my home and change
the prices like they can on the internet sites...
