If you can wait try and hold out to see what the 2011 mustangs are like. I have to agree on the camaro and I've personally have been going back and forth on getting a Challenger SRT8. Only thing stoping me know is wanting to know what the 2011 will be like.

I think all three are great cars and look LIGHT YEARS beyond 99% of every other car on the road. Sound better to boot. The Corvette is one of those few exceptions in the 1% there.

To me, the Challenger looks the most retro out of the three. The mustang is [a close] 2nd and Camaro is 3rd.

I think over-all, the Mustang is the best bet for the reasons already stated. It would be my #1 choice for sure. But of course the Mustang is my fav car of all time anyway so I'm biased.

I do have thoughts of buying a Challenger or Camaro in the future. But I don't know. I'd rather try to buy a 60's car if I can get the chance. I like how Kenne Bell has a blower for the Challenger which has put the thing in the 9's. There's one shop that will install TWO Kenne Bell blowers. There's a few vids on youtube of it and it's sick. Whipple is coming out with a front-fed blower for the Camaro. I think it's kind of funny looking due to the bar going from the front to the back of the blower but that's just how it is.

So...are you looking at a GT500 maybe?

They are all nice cars, but if I was to sell mine I would get the SRT8 Challenger. Beautiful and retro on the outside and extremely plush and comfortable on the inside. My friend has an SMS Challenger and he is close to 600 RWHP, Enough to get out of most situations. At the end, dont go by what others say to convince you, make your own decision based on what realyy satifies you the most. Less chance of regrets this way JMO. Early congrats on whichever route you take.

I really like the looks of the Challanger. One drawback is the stock motor doesn't like too much boost. On the plus side an srt8 has 370+ cubic inches and can be stroked to 426. That negates the need for forced induction. Mustangs need forced induction to make significant power and still be driveable. The 4.6 really takes to boost and 500+ hp is easy to accomplish on the stock motor.

If you want the Challenger get it. Be glad you weren't one of the people who paid over 60k when they first came out!

I'd like to see a pic of whatever you get. I'm partial to the silver Challanger myself.

I am a car nut.
I like them all.
If you think you want the Challenger then don't let anyone talk you into something diferent, you will always have regrets.
I think tho, that you are not sure,if you have to ask someone els's opinion.
Take three days off, spend each day driving a rental,Challenger,Camaro and Mustang.
Then buy the car that you think feels best for you.

I was wondering about that. Good to know if I ever got one at some point.

Also, they can be increased to 440ci. But I'd choose 426 for old school reasons if it were me.

Default Thanks.

Hello everybody that replied. Most of you replied in a thoughtful manner not treating me as a "troll" and I appreciate that. I'm a new member of a Challenger forum known as the "Z" and I posted over there about my experiences with Challenger vs Mustang vs Camaro as well as all my anxieties over which model to choose (R/T vs SRT8).

Yes, I have made my mind up with a Challenger. Soon as I saw them I loved them. My all-time favorite car is a '71 Cuda 440-6pk and instantly the new Challenger reminded me of them. I also found aftermarket 71 Cuda kits for the new Challengers. So yes, my choice seems rather clear. But for me, no matter what car I buy...any of them...is a lot of money.

I came here with a curious interest just to see what would be said in defense of your beloved Mustangs, and as I let my brain enter into my decision (much to my hearts chagrin), I figured I had nothing to lose asking you all what you thought. Nothing to lose.

I must confess that over in the "Z" in my post I stated that some of the Mustang forums I lurked in before I didn't like very much due to what I saw as too much "kill" talk that for me seems so infantile much of the time. Hell, all are fast cars in the grand scheme of things and all can be made faster yet with mods. But most important...be careful on the roads with the racing stuff. We all have people we love out there next to each other. Plus, somebody will always whip your *** one way or another too.

I also want to say that my brief stay here today showed me that it ain't so bad here towards the Challengers. If you wish, here was my post over on the "Z" a couple days ago about my findings.

I think you'll find that I actually did like the Mustang alot, just not enough. But I do want to let most of you here who replied that it's been cool to get your thoughts, I do appreciate the opinions. Feel free to post on the "Z", I think you'll find most everyone there very welcoming. Speaking for myself I have much respect for the Mustang after my test drives.

But I know for certain (have from the start) Challenger is for me. Mustangs for you. Makes the world go around. Enjoy your rides as I will mine. Thanks for your time!

I would probably add a 71 `Cuda conversion kit myself if I bought a Challenger. I love the 71 `Cudas, especially the 426 HEMI, but the 440 6-pak is a very close second to me.

I sure wish a new `Cuda would be made, but I doubt it will happen.

If the Challenger wasn't so stupid big, I'd have one already.
It is the most retro of all three by far, that's why it's a good looking car.
