The "I have a question about my sync" and "tips and tricks about sync" thread
did you dowload the sync my ride so you can make sure all music is indexed, also i noticed in itunes although you files in libray, it would not put them in my ipod until i selected the music, plus i had to select the artist then sync. hope helps
Also sometimes when i shut car off, if i have been listening to ipod, when strat car up it comes up to the AM radio, probably because ipod maybe asleep at first, but noticed this since i played along with sync site of ford and updated sync.
I should note that I've had this car for 6 months and "Sync USB" has worked perfectly until last night. (Music was added and an iphone update was downloaded from itunes)
Do I need to update Sync somehow? How would I do that?
got to go out to fords site, but i too had a itunes update and only music on ipod was what was on it, saw in itunes but was not syncing up with itunes, nothing to do with sync, even when added song they did not sync to ipod til i selected artists as well as songs , you know click on ipod in itunes you choose how to sync,
here is ford site

there is also a install to sync ford itunes

I wish it was smart enough that I could hit the button and when she says "Sync, please say a command" I could say "USB play album "Wincing The Night Away" (or something) instead of "USB" and then the response "USB, please say a command", etc.
actually if you hit the AUX button will go to last song on in my case my ipod, then if i hit button it says say a command, i say play artist ventures, it says it and plays it.
So since I've given up completely now, where would I take my car to get this resolved? The Ford service center or someone like geek squad?
None of the updates from the sync my ride site will install in my car. (I've been using just a USB drive to try and install them) I tried even just grabbing the "sync status checker" to find out what version of sync was in my car and couldn't even get that to work. The instructions tell you to plug in the USB drive and then turn on the car. Nothing happens when I do this...so I tried to select Sync USB and it said there were no playable media files on the drive (well of course not..theres no music on it).
*headache*
So...ford service department?

I did all my updates from website and in my drive way, you load the update to thumb drive, then follow instruction, it threw me off at first, had to leave thumb drive in can not load update to say a ipod and plug in, even it is USB, has to be a dedicated thumb drive I found out, I printed out instruction sat in car for 30 mins figuring out, It is too hard seems like to explain on computer her, sorry if I'm not helping. I know one point you have to leave thumb drive in until done, I removed to early and had no radio only AM radio, then next day plugged thumb drive and it updated and rebooted radio and worked. but sync seem to give me a lilttle trouble since update so maybe I would not update. but get the itunes sync thing installed on your computer to fix itunes and sync.
