Mine is a DD and I just do fine in the snow, but I have a set of winter tires (Falken EuroWinter rocks by the way). Stang or 4WD, you do not stand much of chance in snow if you have all season rubber. There are countless videos on youtube showing horror stories with all season tires in the snow. My driveway has a 10% incline and it snowed 4" this week-end. Not a problem at all to go up. You can get a snow tire package for less $800 wheels + tires.

Spend about $5k of that on a used Explorer or Mountaineer, and then put the rest down on a GT. Problems solved.

Anyonr that knows what a GOOD winter car will do will tell you that Stangs suck major big time in snow. Put good winter tires and some sand bags in the trunk and they improve to "suck a lot".

I have over 36 years of winter driving experience with over a dozen vehicles. Get a beater first. I also lived in Michigan for 4 years; Monroe; and I fished Belleville Lake. If you DO buy the Stang for the winter, invest in a lot of Jockey shorts.

You should be fine. Get some snow tires and drive smart. Think back to the 70's and prior when most everything was RWD and driven through our winters.

I personally am not pleanning to drive mine, but I have my Jeep for winter driving. Mustang is a second car for me. I would not worry about driving it though.

I am in Grand Blanc BTW. I work in Novi.

you wrecked in a Dodge 4wd and you're asking if a rwd Mustang is a good winter car ? Hahaha, as you probably found out, NOTHING stops on ice, not RWD, not FWD and not 4WD. A Mustang in snow and ice is only as good as the driver. The good thing I guess about a RWD Mustang is it won't lull you into a false sense of security by going forward if it's too slick. If ya can't go, ya know ya can't stop. Unlike 4WD which can usually always go, but still can't stop. Buy the Mustang, if it won't go, stay home.

Welcome to the forum. My buddy has the same 'stang as I do, 08 GT/CS, and he uses it in the winter (Quebec, Canada) with not to many problems, but his supspension is stock. My ride has been lowered by 1-1/2" and doesn't do very well, so I have to store it for the winter and use a clunker for the season. Just don't lower your suspension and you should do fine with good tires and some weight in the trunck
