According to the Ford tech....you can keep the old sensors but you will need to get new valve stems. These are not bands on the 2010 they are sensors attached at the bottom of the valve stem

I already have done this and can only speak for myself, but I bought new sensors for my new tires and chrome rims because I am using my old ones for the winter (when they start using the road salt to keep my chrome rims safe). Anyway I did not have to do anything at all when I swapped them out. I simply put the new ones on with new sensors and test drove it. No codes or lights or anything popped up ever. I have had them on for about a month and they are still good without doing anything with the TPMS. So I would say that you dont need to do anything, just put them on.
Also a little side note, my dad brought home one of the TPMS computers from his work just in case we needed to reprogram it or whatever, and when he scanned the TPMS they wouldnt even come up. But like I said we didnt even need it anyway and everthing is fine with just putting them on. Its a smart car
