Tires: 245/45/18 front & 275/40/18 rear
Anyone using this setup? I have seen that the 18x9 recommended size is 255/45, so I dont want to go too small for this wheel, but 245/45 and 275/40 are really close overall diameter, whereas there is a difference between the 255/45 and 275/40. If 245's are too narrow, I will probably go with 255/45 and 285/40's.
Thanks for the help.

well shoot, now that I look at it, there are not very many tires offered for that combination. I was hoping for a high performance all season tire, but there simply arent any for that combination. Anyone else have any input on this? I am torn...
I am back to where I started. The combos that offer the most options are 245/275 OR 255/275. dang.

That is where I have been looking, but there are basically NO options for the 255/45 & 285/40 combo. There are MUCH more for 255/275 OR 245/275. My problem is that w/ the 255/275 combination, the overall diameter of the front wheel would be larger than the rear wheel, and it SHOULD be the other way around IMO. Although on americanmuscle.com (where I am buying my wheels) they say the "IDEAL" tire sizes for 9" wide wheels and 10" wide wheels are 255/45 and 275/40 respectively. They list 285/40 as a possibility on rear tires for the 10" wheel, but as stated before, there really arent any options for that size when paired with 255 fronts. Thus my dilemma.

I guess I will have to go with the 255/275 combo as suggested by americanmuscle, but it just weirds me out that the front tires would be taller than the rears. I would think that, if anything should be different in this regard, the REAR tires should fill out the wheel wells more so than the fronts. I am surprised nobody else has had this problem! Although I guess the source of the problem is the fact that I am not satisfied with the Nitto555's or BFGKDW2's because I am after more of a high performance all season tire. Those two mentioned above are the ONLY options for the 255/285 combination. When you look at the 245/275 or 255/275 combinations, there are many more options, including several 'all season' type tires, which are of interest to me....
hmmmmm....I. am. torn.

Now that I do the math, the difference in the overall diameter between 255/45 and 275/40 will be about .37", which will not be noticeable. I will probably go with this setup even though I would rather have 285 rears.
