The part I love is people are going out and buying these for 30k+ when they run a freekin 13.9 1/4 mile and you can buy a 05 to 07 s197 with a intake and tune for half the price that will run a 13.2 1/4 mile and it looks better its lighter and gets better mileage.

Car & Driver put the Camero, Mustang, and Charger head to head.

Each had their strengths....(ie the camero edged out the mustang in 0-60)

But overall, the mustang came out in front "all things considered"

I'm happy with that.

Maybe SoCal is just Mustang territory but if not then those stats should be switched

same thing in ny more stangs then crapmaros

I've said it once, I'll say it again. The camaro has been gone for 7 years and now is the new kid on the street. Lets look at the same numbers again in 12 months and the tide will turn. Take the mustang away for 7 years and its demand will be high. Mustang will be beating up on the camaro in tests next year and the camaro will die again along with GM. I, for one, am not at all worried.

it's great to have the muscle car wars back in action. without the new camaro, the mustang would feel less need to up their power rating. competition is good, keeps the automakers on their toes. but the bottom line is camaro lovers will buy camaros and mustang lovers will buy mustangs, after that you can mod them to your hearts content and make it as fast as your bank account will allow, and on race day the winner will claim, "my car is better."

I predict by next year the numbers will start to creep back down for the Camaro's. I saw somewhere that the 2010 Mustang has sold like 60,000 units, which really isn't that much when compared to past years.
Does anyone know what the production number was for the 2005 Mustang? Since it was/is a retro design, many of us baby-boomers bought one because it reminded us of the Mustang in our youths.
I think the production numbers on the '05 Mustang (first year run) will be higher than the 2010 Camaro.

According to www.camarovsmustang.com 70% of people prefer the Camaro compared to the 30% who prefer Mustang
Yes that is MORE THAN TWICE the number of people who like Camaro. A GM made Camaro??? pff

To me Camaro is a stylish $hit box that looks good but after all it is a $hit box that will break repeatedly before hitting 100,000 km. It looks aggressive but b/c of that, once you sit in it AS A PASSENGER you can't see outside. you feel you are in trenches of WWI. Poor visibility, poor quality of material, poor interior design make Camaro a boring ride for your date. hence possibly less spanking/****ing at the end of the day (oh I meant good old fashion stuff, I am not into anything weird, [to self why did I let that slip]).

As far as I am concerned Camaros can $uck my muffler!

>>>>>MY QUESTION: Why do you think more people prefer a Camaro to a mustang?

==================================================
***for the sake of conversation please only compare the most basic stock V6s, since it is the best selling trim level for both

***Camaro has been out selling mustang in the last couple of month. But b/c it is just back after I think 8 yrs, you don't see too many of them on the road....

***I am not bias b/c i don't own a mustang.... I am gonna get my baby in 2011 once the new model come out. My opinions are based on unbias research.
I'm curious to see of those "70%" how many already own a Camaro or are diehard GM Fans. I would agree that the traffic on the road is way more accurate than a skewed poll. I see about 80-90% mustangs and hardly any camaros.
