Default My Expensive Lesson to Share

If you owen a vert treat your rear window like gold! Long story short, I hid a xmas present from the wife in the rear toneau area (where the roof stows when its down) and kinda forgot about it and tried to drop the top untill I heard the pop.
Yup there went the rear window. Ok punch self now, but its ok its just a window, couple hundread bones and a call to the glass guys and like new, never happened right?
WRONG!!!!
Whole new roof!!!!!!
The rear glass in the convertables is glued and sewen in and is too difficult to replace, for this reason the glass is ONLY sold as part of the roof.
So what does that mean.... a trip to ford to order the new roof (7-10 days of shipping time for the roof) and about 3600 bucks for the roof and then having the labour of replacing the part and everything else.
so the car is in the bodyshop under an insurance claim and i should get the car back in about 3 weeks or so...
merry xmas to me
merry xmas to me
how the hell am i gonna pay the 1k dollar deducable

my pain your lesson

cheers

Wow man, sorry to hear At least insurance will chip in, the $1000 is hard to bite, but better than $3600. Hope everything will go smoothly, wish you the best.

Aw, man. Sorry about that. If you're looking for some consolation look at the "I'm done with this car!" thread.

Again, my condolences.

Thanks for the warning! I'll thank you every time I DON'T do that, lol! Did you try just buying a top online? I've seen replacement tops for about $550 in various places.

dang man, sorry to hear that, but yeah at least you don't have to pay the 3600 for the whole roof. it'll be all good when your car is back to normal like it was before.

$1000 deductible, wow! Good luck with the repairs. I've maintained zero deductible on mine from day one. Have never had to use it, but will rest easy just in case anything happens.

I don't even think 0 deductible is even possible with my insurance
I'm just glad they haven't given me a rate increase yet.
