Remote Start for Manual Transmission???
I have a 2008 GT with a 5 speed. I live in a pretty cold part of the state and would love a remote start. Having a manual transmission I would need to get a bypass to tell the computer the clutch plate is grounded. When I start bypassing these kinds of thing will it hinder street performance? Or will it not have an impact at all?

I think there's a reason remote start on manual cars aren't popular. Even if you bypass the clutch, you might have the car in 1st gear and the car will lurch forward or just stall when you remote start it.

Another issue is that the car needs the key code to start (our keys have chips in them). The less expensive units require you to keep the 2nd key in the car with some elctronics that transmit the code and provides the start permissive. Other more expensive units allow you to program the remote starter using the 2 original keys.
Other than that, there's no performance concerns other than watching your Stang take off down the street, stolen by the guy that knows where that spare key was.

Thread resurrection time!
Iīm planning on the Clifford Matrix 20.7x for my 5 speed ī08 GT-CS.
This doesnīt give the detail of if it can clone this properly without using some sort of bypass module.
Iīm wondering if someone else might know that has done a remote start install on a newer mustang with the chip in the key.

Don't do it. Read this thread
While not perfect, it can only lurch a foot or so. Rather than Knight-rider off into a pond.

I say not perfect in this case, as I need help with the key issue, but as I understand it Fordīs in general have no neutral stick-shift position sensing. These come with remote starters that actually have manual transmission installs as an option. This makes it just as safe as using it on an automatic sensing the car in park, more so IMO, as it has 2 fault points (e-brake and neutral position)to verify before starting rather than simply checking the one in the case of an automatic.
As I didnīt read the entire thread, Iīm under the assumption whatever was used was actually ONLY made for automatic transmissions(the obvious norm), that or ineptly installed.

Ive never understood why it would be so hard to add something to the programming that checks if its in neutral... Surely it cant be hard to identify what gear the car is in
if gear==neutral
start=1
else
start=0
if gear==neutral
start=1
else
start=0
