OMG! So Conflicted! FI 05? 11 GT? 10 GT500?
Man I keep going back and forth over wha ti want to do. I did a lot of extra work last month and have the money together to put a Procharger on my 05 Vert. I love the style of the o5-09 cars, but i am nto a Vert guy, the rattles drive me crazy and i want to get into autocross and road course track days and a vert just isn't good for that.
I had decided to keep the 05 and just go SC and be done with it, but I really want to buy a 11 GT coupe with the track pack. I figure by time they hit dealers this summer-ish I will be able to put about 10K or more down.
Then another idea hit me. All the info we have heard from reputable sources so far on the V6 and GT has been accurate. I will assume that the info on the GT500 getting a aluminum block will be accurate too. That means that there should be some deals on 10 GT500's around summer time. Deals in this market for the GT 500 probably will still mean full MSRP at best though considering most dealers are tacking 5K onto the price of the 10's.
What do you guys think the pricing on 10 GT500's will do with these new announcements. Help me decide what to do! I'm leaning towards the 11 5.0, but a 10 GT500 would rock if I could get a decent price on a new one (ie under sticker).

I would stay away from the Techco motor. There was one of those at the speed shop I use and turns out Techco sent the wrong compression motor not once but twice. Also they knew what it was supposed to be since the customer also ordered their blower at the same time. They found out the hard way that it was a high compression motor when it popped on them!

The '10 - '11 Body style is NOT that bad. In fact I think from all sides it looks much better, leaner, meaner. As far as the rear, well that was a tie for me because I thought the rear of the '05 I had was flat and boring. For me the over-all new design inside and out was an upgrade.
But I say drive one for your-self, see it for your-self and make a decision that you want and who cares what anyone else says...

In the end, doesn't matter because you can make the new body style look good.
Seems that the aftermarket companies are a little slow to come up with full body kits for this car... I like to see what Cervini, among others, would do with that rear end.
As far as autoXing and road course racing with a GT500, I'm not so sure that it's the right car for the job.
Being heavier and all...

Not over the Shelby front IMO.
