OK. I read the thread title and the statements in the OP. What dirty little secret did he expose? Looks like I missed it...

Whats the dirty little secret? if i wanted a vette or a gt500 i would have bought one, as for comparing apples to oranges you could buy a $300 car and drop a $10,000 dollar motor in it and out run a stock vette or Gt500 but thats not really the point. i dont believe people here are trying to increase the book on there car by throwing mods at it. i like my stang for what it is and enjoy waisting time and money on it and i am prolly not alone here.

I believe in just making my car the best that it can be, looks and performance. I dont plan on selling it and I enjoy it because I made it what I want it to be.

Passing judgement on how much money someone spends on a car vs. what they could have bought new is just plain dumb.

It's the financial equivelant to bench racing IMO. Building a car up is not for everyone, but there are those that enjoy the process.

I love GT500's and park next to them at local cruises, etc. I have a profound satisfaction that I made over 600whp with my car, and it is customizes just the way I wanted it.

Im planning on buying a 2008 GT in the next 5 months or so. Why not a '11? For starters, I'd love to have the power that the '11 has but it's a brand new engine. I'd feel more comfortable waiting until 2012 comes out. Also, it'd have higher insurance cost's too. Higher car payment...etc.
I want to get a 2008, put axle backs, CAI/Tune, LT's & a midpipe.. possibly cams later on down the road if the car is a good car. Thats it for performance it's a couple grand. Gonna do a few exterior mods also. I can't haul *** around the public streets once I get it to 320+rwhp... but it's what I want...I'll keep the stock parts and swap em out when the 2012 comes out and trade in the 08 maybe, sell the parts.

I can't really think of a logical reason on why I want to put 2-3K into the GT and make it faster other than I'd like it and its what I want to sit my *** in everyday lol. I want to know I have it, its like a comfort. And no, its not the fastest car around by any means... but it is fast. Fast enough anyways. Sure, some guy in a modded GTO/SS/Vette/Cobra etc can take me.. but theres someone that can take them... its not really important to be faster than everyone... I think the people that think like that, mostly kids in their ricers that just have to race and be the fastest... are reetarrrrrrdddddssss

Pascal... I need your help. I realize after reading this thread I have made a huge mistake and I need to sell all my mods, and get rid of my mustang.

I should have consulted with the OP and his friend before making stupid decisions, and now I feel I should sell it all and buy a used vette to redeem myself.

Please help.....
