i havent seen a complete video on the v6 bumper cutout, so i decided top make a complete, step by step video! hope it helps you!

If you use the "proper" tools there will be no scratches. A jigsaw is not the proper tool to cut the bumper. Taping the area and cutting thru the tape would also have helped.

 

The shop that installed my mufflers used a very sharp utility knife. They used the Pypes Template, taped it off with painters tape and said it cut like butter.
No scratches here, but I think having it on a lift made things easier too.

 

well actually im going to get the car painted soon...so i didnt care much, otherwise i wouldve bought a dremel, theyre about 30$ online

Oh and the sandpaper made the scratches, i was holding it wrong, not the jigsaw (like the video states)

Oh and i have jigsaw experience! lol

 

wow, haha, would of thought it would take more than a utility knife to cut through.

Anyway, the "do it yourselves" are great.

 

lol...only if you heat the placstic..lol...but it cut smoothly with the jigsaw...(a lift wouldve helped tho)
its just the sanding i messed up in, i didnt realize till later that i was scratching it by the way i was holding it....im happy with the results tho, i heard people pay to get this done :/

 

Because it was a very hot July day, made the plastic much more pliable. I'm sure if they had done it now while it's 20° outside would have taken more effort.

If I had to do myself, I would recommend a Dremel.

 

ya your right a dremel is the best tool, but if you dont have one find your best cutting tool or a home depot...lol
