Is Moleskin necessary?
I know this has been discussed plenty on MF but I have some questions.
I am getting my tint tomm and I want to know if moleskin is necessary on an 09 GT. I have seen this discussed but I cant find any info on an 09 so I dont know if the hard plastic on the windows were the same as all S197's. If it is necessary and if my tinter doesnt have it can it be installed later? I really dont want to scratch the new tint esp since its going to be limo and a scratch will really show up.

Some time in 2008 Ford introduced a felt-lined inner door belt weather strip to the Mustang line. I replaced the ones on my 2007 with those from the 2008 to protect my tint from streaking due to the adhesive from the felt my dealer applied when they installed my tint. The 2008 door belt is on the top compared with one removed from my 2007 where the dealer applied felt. The felt on the 2008 part is applied all the way to the edges with no exposed adhesive.
Your 2009 should already have the felt-lined parts, but have your tint installer verify.

You can get the parts from your local Ford parts department for about $36 each - there is a different part number for each side.
Drivers side: 8R3Z6321456A
Passenger side: 8R3Z6321457A
Or you can order them from Silver State Fordparts.com and save some cash, even after paying for shipping. They are $20.38 and $22.64 respectively.

I really don't know when they were introduced for the 2008 models ... sorry. You may be able to see the door belt with the window lowered.

Or just get the tintprotector kit for $29 total. It works just as well. For the life of your stang!
