Default Retro-solutions doing bulb capping instead of coating...

I no longer see a bulb coating service on their site anymore and just see a bulb capping feature, Is this some how better? just curious if anybody knew anything about this.

They replaced their coating service with a capping service. I think I was one of the first ones to receive the HID's with caps. IMO, the caps look much nicer in my fog light housing as they appear to be stainless steel colored, matching the reflector.

I have been on several road trips since installing them and have not had any problems. In the last month, I have had only 4 cars flash their brights at me, but this is probably from the position of my fog lights, not the glare.

Capping is better because it's cheaper and lasts longer.

Do you drive with your headlights AND fog lights on? Both are HID?

I do if I am on a divided highway (never on a 2-way road) or if is raining or foggy (recent road trips during low visibility). Yes, my headlights are factory HIDs and my fog lights are RetroSolutions HIDs.

Fog lights are directed down and to the sides. It does not matter if it is HID or not. Sure they are brighter than the regular bulbs, but it doesn't change the spread pattern. As I said, I have driven 15+ hours at night over the holidays and only had 4 cars flash me for brights(probably because of the placement of the fogs). Visibility is great! There is no need for anything over 35w IMO.

I think people get annoyed because we have such big fog lights that it looks like two sets of headlights. Good idea to only run them on a divided highway.

I agree. Due to our reflectors, light IS thrown above the "cut off". This glare would only be amplified if you have the 55w HIDs. 35w is already "holy crap" bright.

Just wanted to say thats thier loss. You have a great product with great customer service. Plenty of other forums out there to sponsor. Also very nice thing to keep the discount for the members here.

Im assuming you got your HID kits from retrosolutions? 8000K or 6000K? Well worth it?

Thanks.
