On another note, Mike Harrison also stated that a twin turbocharged 5.0L was not in the works for the GT500 in the next few years. A connection from Ford Motor Company previously indicated that by the year 2013 we would see a 5.0L TT GT500 but Mr. Harrison said that the size of the 5.0 in the engine bay wouldn’t allow for turbo fitment. I still wouldn’t be surprised to see that change in the coming years but for the time being, the answer is no.

idk how well the new 5.0 engine will accept boost, being 11/1 compression ratio.
+1 on that! No way you can push much boost with that cr. As much as I'd like to see this be the 'answer' that we've been looking for, I don't think it's gonna be. Need more cubes. You can only put in 5L of air, and only put so much gas mixed with that 5L of air. How do we expect to keep on par with others in the 6L+ realm that respond soooo well to mods? And don't give me the 'we weigh less' crap. Their HP can bridge that gap fast with a couple bolt ons. Our only answer has been FI, and I can't see that being such a viable option with 11/1 cr. But I guess we'll see.
Surprised they wouldn't just keep the same 5.4L motor and switch from the blower to turbo's for the cobra. Heck just put a bigger blower on it from stock.
