Didn't do a power antenna because for one I didnt feel like doing all the wireing and I didnt think there was enough room in the area where the antenna motor would go. Also they are kind of expensive. For $20 you can get an 8" antenna or you can do what I did and go to autozone and get a rubber universal antenna for $5.

I think my antenna looks decent, i think i paid like 8 or 9 for it on ebay. then you can take your old one and use it as a cat toy.. I agree with the above statement.. you'd have to really want a power antenna to go through the hassle.. you can see the antenna (barely) in my pic in the sig.. its a 12" tall that looks just like the factory one, just shorter.

I'd just save my money, buy a shorty, and call it a day. Or, if you have cash burning in your wallet, why not just delete/shave the antenna all together?

I had a power antenna on the Buick we used to have. During an ice storm, I went to turn on the radio (antenna automatically slides up) and the antenna was frozen. It messed it up and I had to shell out $100 to replace it.
Don't think I want to bother with it with the stang.

Dont waste any money on a shorty either. Cut your stock one and reattach the ball and you will have the height you want for free and it will look OEM pretty much. I cut mine even with the roof of my car and it looks WAY better then stock and only cost me about 20 minutes worth of time.

Power antenna's just end up failing in the end.. and are a hassle. Just go with a shorty or delete if you don't listen to the radio.

Shadow, how'd you go about reattaching the ball once you cut it? Super glue?

How did you take off the ball and what did you do to cut the antenna and reattach it?
Thanks

The shorty looks way much better. No idea why Ford liked to attatch fishing poles to our cars. You can typically get the shorty in 2 different lengths. I got the 8" and have no issues with reception. Though it all depends on where you live and what your reception was with your stock antenna. If it is weak, you may want to try the longer length.
