Default Windshield washers do not work....

I tried to use my windshield washers today. First time in a month probably. No matter how long I held down the button, then never worked. I could hear the pump and I could occassionally see a little drip out of one of the nozzles. The bottle has fluid, but it will not deliver the fluid to the windshield.

Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on what the problem is? The pump is working, I can hear it, but nothing comes out.

What are the temps outside? Any chance the lines are frozen? If not you may need to blow them thru to clear a possible clog.

His location says CA but I don't know if that stands for CAnada or CAlifornia. If it's California the temps here never get below 40F so it's most likely just a clog of dirt or build up. I know since we never use those much here in Cali, I turn them on every so often (like right before I wash it) so it keeps everything working. Us some air to blow out the lines, or if you don't have air use some WD-40 by just shooting some through the lines. The pressure will release the clog and you can flush it out afterwards.

Depends on what part of Cali. In fact I believe a majority of Cali gets below 40F.

could be any number of things gone wrong...a bad pickup tube, clogged line, a hole in the pickup line, clogged nozzle (but both at the same time not real likely).

one word: Warranty, take it back to the dealer and let them figure it out.

Good luck and no I haven't experienced this problem.

Southern California. It was 72 out yesterday. I never have had any windshield washer clog before. Is this a Mustang thing?

I will use air to blow out the lines and see if that works.

Are you kidding me? It may seem cold to us Californians at times, but it never reached freezing temps. I'm not guessing at the temps, I do listen to the local news. I have never seen any newscast mention below 40F specially in So Cal. Some nights it gets cold enough to get a frost on the roof shingles from the dew, but that melts as soon as the sun is out. That is about the only good thing we still have here is the weather. Everything else bites! Even in the dead of winter the average daily temps are in the 60'sF. If it rains, it actually warms up. Water in the atmosphere (humidity) tends to absorb the cold.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the 'majority' of California getting that cold, but ya gotta remember about the high Sierra Mountains, Mammoth Mountain, Lake Tahoe area, etc. Those places where the elevation rises significantly above sea level gets quite cold at certain times of the year.

But I do agree with one thing: most everything else, except for the weather most of the time, bites. Especially the cost of land/housing.

Regarding FastDEWs problem:

I recall you've had at least a few issues with your new Mustang: brake noise, pulling, defroster light out on the dash, and now this windshield washer problem.

Get your friendly local Ford dealer to take care of you: it's a brand new car.

I took a look at the car today. Pulled the under hood insulation down and found the T fitting not connected at the passenger side spray nozzle. Tried to connect it, but it is broken. I am going to take the car to the dealer. Now I have several problems as pointed out by 7up, so I guess it is time to visit the dealer.

This is my 8th new Ford vehicle in a row and the 3rd in our current family fleet and also the one with the most problems right out of the box...... In fact it has more problems than my wifes Expi or my F150 have had since day 1..... and both of them have more than 50,000 miles now.

Hmmmmmm
