v-6 = 7.5 axle
GT = 8.8 axle

bigger brakes on GT. Sway bars

quite a bit more. you can go to http://www.newtakeoff.com

they offer complete GT axles that are ready to bolt into your car...might need a new driveshaft though.

didn't see your other post...why you going to a GT axle? just for the sway bars?

no idea about what a V6 gets from the factory.

no, i wanted 4.10 gears, and u cant do that with 7.5 rear end, its not big enough. so instead of replacing multiple things, i just thought id get the gt rear axle with the 4.10 gear setup

The V6, without pony package, is only lacking the rear sway bar.

V6
31.5mm front sway
no rear sway unless PP then its 18MM

GT
34mm front sway and 20mm rear sway
Springs are different for the added V8 front weight
and the larger 8.8" unsprung rear end weight.
A GT front and rear sway bar upgrade is very do able.
Very go cartish results.

I think my Ranger has the 7.5 rear with 4.10s in it. At least the axle code on the door sticker tells me so.

Actually it depends upon the year of the Pony model. In 2006 it had the same front and rear sway bar as the GT (as measured by another member). In 2007 it had the smaller size if you opted for the rear sway bar. In 2008 it was back to the same size as the GT.
