Default Long Tubes

I need some advice. I am considering purchasing the pypes lt headers from brenspeed. I would like to know if anyone on here has done them prior to doing cams. If so what kind of gains can I expect. The price is not bad but I am concerned about my current tune not working well with them.

Your tune will work fine with them. The only thing that may happen is you throw a CEL. I had my tune first. Then I got my LT's. Then I threw a CEL. Brenspeed sent me several revised tunes, which I was glad they did, but non of them corrected the CEL. I then got a tune from Bama. No more CEL. I'm guessing 15-20 rwhp. I felt more through the mid range. Def worth getting IMHO.

If you want my 100% opinion, save up and wait for either the MAC's or the BBK's. At this point, I would avoid Boost Brothers as they take a lot of work to fit.

thanks i apreciate the advice. I am also considering kooks or borla but figured since brenspeed says pypes has no fittment issues they would be worth considering

The BBK's are actually cheaper than the Pypes (the chrome ones) and I heard they fit really good. Kooks are nice, but to me that's just way to much money for headers, regardless of fitment. The MAC's are also cheaper, and ceramic. Those are the ones i would actually go with.

Let me know what kind of power you make out of your LT. I'm looking into doing a cam in the near future, and also considering LT to get some decide #'s.

I run the BBKs and have had zero issue. They are very resonably priced. However I have also heard very good things about those Pypes as far as fitment and quality. Cant go wrong with either for the money IMO.

Ceramic coated headers help keep the heat down in the engine bay area, and don't rust/discolor. Stainless are usually cheaper, but generate a lot more heat. They also usually blue after initial use, and tend to rust after a while. Get ceramic.
