Sorry but I have to stick my nose in this one more time.
When I was in over 20 years ago wherever I was stationed there was a network of ******** waiting to take advantage of young service members. I saw it happen to friends and it pisses me off to this day that American citizens will take advantage of someone serving their country.
If the dealership gives you any crap about canceling the order or giving back money (the full amount). Don't deal with them anymore. Go directly to your legal office. We called it the JAG when I was in. They will get your money back. The last thing a dealer will want is to be on the bases **** list.

Just by what has been stated (by the OP), this dealership is just giving you the spin around and trying to rip you off.
Don't go paying for the next 4-5 years for a car you will not be 100% satisfied with. DO NOT let the dealership intimidate you, AT ALL. You should be the ones making the demands, otherwise cancel and tell them bb.

If you need your car ASAP, you may want to search for one instead. Dealers can pull in a car you from another dealership but may cost you a little more for transport. They will probably tell you that when they do break the news to you that they aren't being produced anymore. Most likely they are just trying to sell you their first 2011.

Ford hasn't updated the "Start Up" report in many months but with the 2010 Mustang ending production on 03/12/2010 the 03/15/2010 Job #1 date for the 2011 Mustang should be correct. The 2011 Mustang Order Guide has not been released yet but again, your listed dates look correct. The initial "System Fill" allocation for the 2011MY Mustang is set for the February wholesale to Dealers and the Unscheduled Order Bank usually opens two months prior to the Job #1 date. The USOB opens at the same time that the Order Guides are released."
Thats from Blue Oval forus.
