Default Modification Questions

I want to add 4.10 gears to my 2010, but I was also looking at the short throw shifter. Is the shifter really worth the money?

Absolutely! I installed an MGW shifter and couldn't be happier. I also installed 4.10 gears and that with my Brenspeed tune was the most satisfying mod.

I've heard several different opinions for different people about 4.10 and 3.73 gears. Which do you prefer 3.73? or 4.10. I will be going from my current stock gears.

I like my 3.73s, but I haven't driven one with 4.10s to compare...

You will be a little faster with 3.73 unless you mount Drag radials. 4.10s are better for lighting them up though. My drive line guy who installed my gears said that 3.73s are the perfect gear the Mustang GT with the TR3650 transmission. 4.10s for the track if you also use Drag race tires. Many forum people will say 4.10 for the win. But I suspect they are 20 somethings with extreme tendencies. ;-) My 3.73s are plenty low enough. I am using 3rd and 4th around town now where before it was 2nd and 3rd. I was cruising at 20 MPH in 4th today on level ground. 5th can be used down to 35 on level ground now. With 4.10s, I could see 5th all the way down to 30.

So it seems 3.73's is the best way to go. IS there anything else I should purchase to go with them. I have stock man. trans. I plan to order from brenspeed.

I have 3.55 and love them. Sometimes I wish I had 3.73 but when I get my supercharger (this year sometime) I think I will really enjoy my 3.55 and will help a little with gas mileage. I know 3.73's are better but I doubt upgrading from 3.55 to 3.73 would make a huge difference for me anyway

Light weight drive shaft. Saves 22 pounds of mass you don't have to spin to 6000 RPM or accelerate or brake. I wish I had done mine separately (gears and shaft) so I could feel for any difference. But I did them at the same time to spare me the install labor. It did remove that drive line clunk and there is no vibration.
