Tire Rack
What is everybodies opinion on Tire Rack. I am planning on buying Shelby Razor/Tires from them. They are a little bit higher in price and there shipping is high. Does their customer service make up for there higher prices? Is their mounting/balancing on wheel/tire packages top quality? Compare to American Muscle and Cruizin Concepts.

I've bought only tires from them twice. Both times were positive. Of the 4 that I bought about 2 years ago, 1 was defective. They sjpped the replacement immediately and made all the arrangements to pick up the bad tire.
I thought it was Tire Rack that I bought 4 tires and rims from but it was Discount Tires Direct. You may want to check them out. They do have free shipping.

I've been buying tires from Tire Rack since at least as far back as 1993. I think I had one case about 15 years ago where the wrong size was sent by mistake. Corrected right away with zero hassle.
I've also bought Hawk brake pads and replacement rotors from TR as well. Word of warning - I had considerable trouble with Brembo plain front replacement rotors for our 2001 Nissan Maxima, and eventually ended up getting them upgraded to ATE's for the difference in price. Not TR's fault - the rotors all had visible face thickness variation OUT OF THE BOX (and I now have four nearly-new Brembos that are perhaps good for use as cheapie barbell weights.
I've also had a very good experience with discounttiredirect (Falken Azenis mounted on wheels) and with Vulcantire (also for Falken tires, which TR does not sell).
In Vulcan's case, I was happier with Vulcan's service than I eventually became with the ZE-512 tires. (I contend they were over-hyped at "performance all-seasson", and should have been listed as "all-season performance-look" tires instead". [/rant])
Even though I've bought from other mail order tire suppliers, including Vilven tire, Euro-Tire, and I think a couple others that I don't remember offhand, I still look to TR first for both product and information.
Hope that helps.
