Default soft brakes

Question for everyone. I had a bunch of stuff done to my car less a year ago including brakes and transmission. So in short all the air was pumped out of the lines, and it had a nice firm pedal. Now fast forward to a couple of days ago when my car was just sitting around over the weekend. I take my car out for a drive to work, and notice that the brakes feel soft. I thought it could be the slight rust on the disc (cause it rained out), but its still that way even today. Driving fast, or slow - same issue.

However I notice when I floored my car, the brakes felt normal again. Does this mean my master/slave is going, low fluid, or could it be just air?

The fluid level looks pretty good, but its a bit low from the top. I attribute that to slightly worn out brakes.

Any advice?

PS When doing the bleeding with a friend (before doing it at the shop), I did the old method, pump the bakes, and then push. However I read that can hurt the seals and it could leak internally. Is this true?

it could be various things i would trouble shoot the situation before buying anything, re blead your brakes make sure that all the valves are tight on the callipers just one that might be slightly cracked open could lose a vacume and suck oxygen back in the line. if thats no help at all change the cylinder sometimes the bowl that holds the brake fluid will lose its seal and it feels like pumping air. i had a simular problem on my old 98 2v

I noticed the brake pedal feels softer on my car after upgrading to the GT500 brembos..its nothing major, just feels a little weird. I may put a GT500 brake booster on my car this spring to see if firms it up
