But couldnt you always write off the sales tax? There was something different about buying in 09, I know there was a bill passed in Feb.

Unfortunately it works as a deduction against your taxable income. So no, you don't get all the sales tax back.

I bought it in July. Anyway I googled it and I went to the IRS website. There is a tax credit. You can deduct state, local and excise taxes. There are income limits. Go here to find out more:

Man, I can't remember what it was like to actually get money back, lol. I stopped letting uncle sam make money with my money all year long quite a while ago. I think I owe $3700 this year, could be worse.

That's bullshyte!! I don't get it because I made over the limit for individual!!! That is total crap!! I busted my butt for what I made last year and i did so to be able to afford that car and (2) ex-wives... including months out of the country. Now I get penalized??
