Default 2010 or 2011

I considering buying a GT. ( Now have a 2006 V6) I don't know if I should get
the 2010 or wait for the 2011. The 4.6L has been a proven work horse for
about 15 years and will be the last year of production. The new 5.0 L numbers
sound great, but the engine has not yet been battle tested. looking for advice or thoughts ? Thanks

Depends if what maters most to you is HP or price. You are sure to be able to get a killer deal on a '10 but its going to have 95 hp less than a '11.

The '11 is going to have the cool factor of being a 5.0 and the added hp but if you want one in the near future be prepared to pay for it.

With the money saved on the 10, you can do a host of mods to make it a monster, but, the 2011 is coming stock with a warrantied 412 hp, around 350 to the wheel for a manual.

I went with a 2010 ... just picked it up 2 weeks ago. I bought it for a daily driver, so the extra horsepower of the 2011 didn't mean that much to me. As near as I can tell, the 2010 and 2011 will be nearly identical in everyway other than the engine and transmission. Plus, I had my heart set on Kona Blue and didn't want to risk having them discontinue that color for 2011.

I;am sure the 11 is going to be a good car the 10 is also a good car so if h/p is the game the do the 11 if you want to save money than the 10 is sure looking sweet right now with 0 fo 60 mo. I have a10 gt 500 and love the car a freind has a 10 gt and it's a awesome car. Lot of hype on the 11 so expect to pay for it.IMO

Okdadnpony here we go the 10 GT is going to net you a really good deal especially if you wait another month and let more info come out about the 5.0 the dealers cannot deny you that it is coming and they need to get rid of their 10's. In that situation you will save tons off the sticker and alot of room to haggle. You should save quite a bit, you could put that towards the purchase of a Ford Racing supercharger which would give you a 1 year warrenty on the motor and supercharger, but this is the best way to go if you have a Ford tech install the new roushcharger you will have a 3/36 yr warrenty and 435 HP!!! Thats a little more power than the 5.0 and you have the awesome supercharger whine when you stomp the go pedal!!! So me personally I would go get a 10 GT make my money back from getting a 10 GT and put that money towards a Roushcharger take my warrenty same warrenty you will get with 5.0 and run with it! You may even have some money still left over plus dont forget some Ford dealers are doing 0% financing!!! Good luck! Oh yea did I mentention the 4.6 has proven its self! And I like the 5.0 but just worried about how the first year will be, since they rushed it by 12 months! The development started in Jun 07 I believe! Ok I need to stop talking lol!

Thanks to all for input. I do plan for it to be my daily driver so I can do mods
as I go along. It looks like the better deal is to go for a "10". I'll let my
brother "Stangers" know how I make out.

It all depends what you want... You have an untested motor and transition in the 2011 but you will also have an engine that won't be as "out of date" as the 4.6L. Personally I would get the 2010, and get the 0% financing and put the roush supercharger on from the dealer and finance it through my loan.

my local dealer is already discounting the '10s. I saw (7) 2010 GT Premium cars with Trackpack/HID/Security and several other misc options for just under / just over $30K...
