Default Thinking of trading up to a GT...

Hypothetically, how much do you guys think I would have to pay if I traded my 2006 V6 automatic with the Pony Package, Leather, Shaker 500, and tinted windows (22k miles) for a stripped down 2007 GT with a few more miles and a manual. I'm not sure if I'd want to do this even if I can, but as I think more about modding, it seems like it would make more sense if I had a GT.

Here's one in my area that I might go look at:http://www.cars.com/go/search/det...5&aff=national

And please don't just give me the difference in book values, I can do that myself (not to mention KBB is being used less and less by dealers).

The money you'd lose to upgrade to a fast GT would be much smaller than the money you'd lose to make an equally fast v6

op i did what you're talking about a few months ago, and to be honest the smarter thing to do is sell your car privately because the dealer will pay **** for your car. when i went to go trade in my 08 v6 16k miles with same options as you + navigation they offered me 14k. If i was more patient and sold it privately i could of easily sold it for 16-18k

Get the gt. Even a NA gt is way cooler than a supercharged or any other type of v6. Sorry v6 dudes its my opinion. Its a mustang it should be a v8

+1 on losing on trade-in with the dealer. You can easily seel it privately for $2k or more than what the dealer will hose you.

I just did this myself, purchased a 2005 v6 right when they came out and within months I was sad I didnt wait for a GT. Finally decided to upgrade to a GT this month and most of the dealerships would only offer me about $8500 for my 2005 v6 so I sold it Via Ebay in less that 2 weeks and got $12000 for it.

Definately sell private.
