I can see my tech adviser JIMC see is fielding the questions...lol
Thanks Jim!
@shadow, the DS is a worthwile mod for any Mustang, ride quality is really improved as well as response.
@Foolio, I echo what Jim said, while 3.5 is smaller I don't think there is less material in the componets that tie it to the car, its more actually. Remember as far as anyone know this is the only true direct bolt on out there now.

This is certainly next on my "to do" list. For those with manual transmissions; was there any discernable improvement in shifting performance?

This is high on my list as well. What is the advantage of getting the 3.5 v. the 4.0? Also, what is the advantage of getting the one that is the direct replacement as opposed to the adaptor plate or pinion flange?

I'm not going to do this install myself, would the direct replacement one be easier to install (less labor $$)?

TIA

This seems to be a better fit "undercarrage" wise if you are going to lower the car and being a direct replacement adds to stability and ease of installation.
Being that this is the second one on a car, its totally a multipurpose upgrade. I'm excited about it.

Maybe a mod can sticky a "group buy thread" and contact SM.com. I don't suppose they have a sales rep on this site?

I might be interested in a GB for the 3.5 direct replacement. I have heard of the GB's for Shaftmasters happening on here before.
